Apocalypse Jiu-Jitsu (AJJ) is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) school based out of New Windsor, NY, ran by head instructor and owner — Steven Olivier. Steven studied various martial art forms before starting his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) studies in 2005. Steven has always been a natural athlete with an amazing ability to see beyond the surface of the technique.
Once he began BJJ, it was apparent he would excel quickly. Steven has earned numerous medals in many grappling tournaments, including a gold medal at the 2007 Pan American Championships and 2008 World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships.
In addition, Steven has been a police officer for the past 10-years. His BJJ skills have been a valuable tool for the job, and he has shared his knowledge with multiple police agencies. His job gives him the ability to understand the real life functionality of BJJ techniques and give priority to techniques that are functional in all aspects.
Steven puts great emphasis on the structure of his systems and teachings with a realistic competitive style that is functional for all levels.
Apocalypse Jiu-Jitsu offers Brazilian jiu-jitsu and striking classes for men, women, and children.
Anthony Vetro is the head instructor of the striking program at AJJ. Anthony brings many years of experience to the mat. Anthony has been studying Martial Arts since the age of 10, and he offers a wide array of striking techniques from multiple disciplines. He is currently a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Inazuma Te Ryu Ju Jutsu (traditional Japanese Ju Jutsu) under Stephen J. Gamma and a Brown Belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Steven Olivier.
Anthony fought professional MMA and has taught defense tactics for multiple municipalities. Anthony is an international defense tactics instructor for the Dominican Republic Policia Nacional and has previously worked executive protection with a UN Ambassador.
Apocalypse Jiu-Jitsu has a very friendly and welcoming staff that handles all of the day-to-day operations.
John Reilly and Jimmy Triangle, two well-known jiu-jitsu black belts, train and teach at AJJ. There is no shortage of black belts to learn from and train with at this school.
The atmosphere of this school is one where the family feel is emphasized and accepts all skill level of prospective students to train.
