Welcome to Tesla’s 2019 Model S, a pure electric car that first arrived on the market in 2012. Since its inception date, the design and shape appear the same but its functionality, technology, safety, and stylistic features only continue to improve. Every couple of weeks there’s a new feature out that makes the car even better than before, automatically updating in all Teslas. For example, Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, just announced that he is “working with his developers to bring the popular shooter video game Cuphead to Tesla’s large dashboard touchscreens”, which will be available for all Model S Teslas very soon! Not into video games? Watch this video to learn about all of the new upgrades and features included with the Tesla Model S (2019)!
Just like if you purchase an iPhone how updates take place even after you purchase the phone, with Teslas, since everything inside the Tesla is run by computers the features just continue improving.
The following review is based on thousands of Tesla customer reviews found on 17 review sites across the internet, from speaking with actual Tesla customers and our expert’s test drove the 2019 Model S Tesla providing additional feedback. #1 Rated for Luxury Electric Vehicles
Tesla’s 2019 Model S is the originator of the current luxury electric-vehicle boom and is the #1 Rated Luxury Car at TrustedCompanyReviews.com (TCR).
Not only does TCR look at reviews at TrustedCompanyReviews.com, but TCR’s algorithm also takes into consideration all of the online reviews on all of the review sites across the internet when rating a company or car in this case.
The car drives itself
You can literally sit back, take your hands off the wheel and let Tesla drive you to your destination. Wow!
Is the Model S Tesla a safe car to drive?
It’s one of the safest vehicles on the road. Safety features include front and side-impact protection, high-strength architecture and a floor-mounted battery pack allowing for incredible impact protection.
Is the Model S Tesla affordable?
After incorporating tax credits that you get when buying a Tesla (which we explain below) and many potential discounts that we will also share below, you can get a Model S Tesla for under $70,000. And that doesn’t take into account how much money you’ll save on gas, that’s where the bargain really kicks in! No more having to spend $50-$100 per week on gas!
How to Order a Tesla
You can actually build your own Model S Tesla right on Tesla’s website choosing everything from the wheels to the color, easily designing a unique one-of-a-kind vehicle. Tesla’s website is very user-friendly, literally, you just click a button and it brings you to the next step.
To design your own Model S Tesla vehicle the entire process takes about 5 minutes, is that fast enough?
Unlike going to a dealership to buy a car, where you are limited on color, style, and on many factors due to what the dealership has in stock… On Tesla’s website, you just click on the color you want and nothing’s ever out of stock, click on the wheels you want, click on the speed package that you want, easy peasy! And no aggressive car salesmen is there to push you into anything!
Comfort. Luxury. Speed. Future. Safety. Save Money.
These are the words that come to mind when the word “Tesla Model S” is spoken.
Features include:
You don’t have to physically lock or unlock the car, instead, as you approach the vehicle Tesla Model S knows to present the door handles to you. The car is more like a robot, truly next-wave innovation.
To open the door you push a button down and to close it you pull a lever, so you actually don’t have to physically open and close the door.
You can use your iPhone to back your car up when you are ready to leave, like if you are in a parking lot. It’s like driving a remote control car! You don’t have to actually get in the car and start it up, you can back it up as you are walking towards your car with the app.
When you drive it, the car literally feels like a jet taking off, it’s super fast, but it’s quite and you can barely hear the engine. Driving the Model S Tesla feels like you are driving a Lamborghini but for half the price.
Is there room to store my belongings inside the car?
Without an engine up front, you have an upfront trunk but you also have a back cargo area. And that’s not all… underneath the back cargo is a cover area where you can store your electronics, chargers, and additional technology, oh and there’s room for your flamethrower too of course!
Here’s a look at the front trunk:
Occupant Space in the Back of the Tesla Model S
We did find some complaints about the backseat area. Consumers stated that it’s a bit tight and some customers wishing there was more “toe room”. However, we found more positive reviews expressing how comfortable the back seating area was due to the foot area being completely flat and no hump in the middle seat like most cars have from their exhaust. Have you ever tried sitting in the middle in the back seat area of a car? Yeah, not very comfortable! I guess that’s why everyone always calls “window!”
Here’s a glimpse of the flat backseat:
Here’s the flat floor in the backseat area of the Model S Tesla:
Tesla model S interface
All Tesla Model S interfaces offer a 17-inch display which handles everything, tweaking steering efforts, navigating Google Maps, or play classic Atari games! Basically, the interface looks and acts like a futuristic computer. This car offers the best-computerized system and screen on the market, it’s awesome. You can work right from your car as if you were at a computer.
Is the Model S Tesla Fast?
If you go with the standard range Tesla Model S expect to go from 0-60 in 4.0 seconds, is that fast enough?
Need more?
If you want the faster Model S Tesla, you can pay to get a software key that unleashes a faster engine! This faster version is called the 2019 Model S High-Performance Tesla package, but this will cost an extra $20,000. The high-performance Model S Tesla is one of the fastest cars on the road, going from 0-60 in 2.4 seconds, but of course, there’s an extra cost for this faster version.
Additionally, the 2019 Model S Tesla has improved handling and aerodynamics allowing for a top speed of 163 mph.
We found several complaints across the internet where clients expressed that they wished they bought the faster version. If you are looking for speed it’s probably worth the price.
The model S hauls ass, but yet at the same time it’s quite.
Enhanced Autopilot
The Tesla Model S offers a full self-driving capability. You can enter a destination and the car will drive you to your destination, while braking, accelerating and being careful of pedestrians.
Price of Model S Tesla (2019)
Before you read that price tag, consider the fact that you will save on average $50-$100 per week on gas alone when driving a Tesla. Additionally, anyone who buys a Tesla is eligible for a federal tax credit because a Tesla is considered a solar electric system with solar panels and a solar roof. Here is a breakdown of how the tax credit works and also the state incentives involved, but your accountant can handle that part as long as you tell him/her about it!
Having said that, the starting price for the 2019 Model S Tesla (standard version) is $76,000. You can get this standard version at a discounted price of $65,250 by clicking here, but it only goes up from there. A fully loaded Model S Tesla can cost you $133,000.
For an extra $6,000 purchase the upgrade that allows your Tesla to recognize and respond to traffic lights and stop signs, and includes automatic driving on city streets. There are many upgrades that can quickly raise the price, so be careful.
How Long Can You Drive the Model S Tesla Before Having to Charge it?
Tesla ran a computer simulation on its Model S. The results: the Model S could achieve a range of more than 400 miles. (variants: under ideal driving conditions and traveling at conservative speeds)
Tesla Model S Wheels
You can get the wheels in three styles:
- 19-inch silver wheels
19″ Sonic Carbon Slipstream Wheels
21″ Sonic Carbon Twin Turbine Wheels
Be careful to check prices before you quickly click on a choice because prices vary depending on what wheels you choose.
Tests recently revealed that the wheels you choose could affect efficiency. “There’s quite a dramatic difference between the almost insignificant results for upgrading the Model S’ standard 19″ wheels to the sportier 21″ and the surprising 20+% of additional consumption for upgrading to 22″ wheels from the Model X’s standard 20″.”
How to Charge Your Tesla
People often think that you need to drive to one of the many Tesla charging stations to charge your car. These stations are every couple of miles apart from each other, pretty much all around the country. However, charging your car is much easier than that! When you buy a Tesla the dealership installs a home charging outlet, just plug in and charge at your house, it’s that simple!
Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive
The Model S Tesla is ideal for all driving conditions, including snow and rain. Its dual motors with independent traction to both front and rear wheels offer unparalleled control, in all weather conditions. In short, the Model S Tesla is a unique and superior all-wheel driving system!
Tesla’s Refund Policy for the Model S
You can return your Model S Tesla for a full refund within 7 days or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The feeling I get from owning the Model S Tesla is unsurpassed by any vehicle I’ve ever owned. I received my Model S (Blue, Long Range, AWD, black interior) in November of 2018 and it has been my daily driver since day 1. I have installed a charger in my garage. Also, I own and have owned other premium luxury automobiles such as my 2016 Audi S3 which I could choose to drive any day I wanted. I’ve put less than 10 miles on the S3 since I have received the Model S, and those 10 miles, used to keep the engine warm, become more and more shocking each time I have to drive it around the block for maintenance purposes. It’s just so horrible compared to the Model S.

Purchase process was a breeze. Ever since then the car has been getting better and better. Every couple weeks there’s a new feature out that makes the car even better than before. Have not have any quality or reliability issues. You’re getting a lot for what you pay. If you’re going to complain about a 1 mill difference in panel gaps, then go buy a Mercedes. But if you want the most fun to drive car with the coolest tech imaginable, then Tesla is for you. You don’t realize you need it until you are in one and then it’s game over. No other car comes close. It feels like it’s from the future. Just smarter, faster and more convenient than any car I’ve driven before. While also being the cheapest to operate and maintain. It’s been almost a year now and we’ve spent $0 on maintenance. Also, we estimate our electricity cost is 1/3 of what gas would cost for the same miles driven.

In January 2019 we bought a Tesla Model S, after trading our Model 3 in for the Model S. I could not believe how fast and efficient the online ordering process was, it arrived at my house the same week. 4 years ago when I bought my model S things were so much worse, nobody even showed me how to use it ( I had to learn that on my own), wow Tesla has come a long way fast. When they dropped off my model S the lady showed me how to use it and how all the new functionality worked. By the time she left, I could get my Tesla to drive itself! No joking, it really drives itself. This car is much nicer on the inside and outside compared to the Model S, and much much faster! I love the back area with the flat floor and seats, and my favorite is the 19-inch screen which allows you to do anything you can imagine, just like a robot. If you like computers, you’ll love this car. What impressed me most was last week I had a minor issue to fix a rattle from autopilot camera. I was going to be on vacation when they were available to fix my car so I provided them my garage code. They came and fixed the issue and communication through text was perfect.
