Hearing Loss and Tinnitus
Hearing loss is characterized by difficulties in hearing across different settings and is commonly associated with another primary symptom known as Tinnitus.
Tinnitus is a common auditory condition that affects millions of people worldwide and is characterized by a perception of sound in the absence of any external stimulus and is often described as a ringing, buzzing, or hissing sound in the ears (1). Hearing loss and tinnitus can result from a variety of factors, including exposure to loud noise, age-related hearing loss, earwax impaction, medications, or other underlying medical conditions.
Is there a Solution for Tinnitus?
Tinnitus solutions are widely sought out due to the disorder’s impact on an individual’s mental well-being, sleep disturbances, concentration difficulties, and increased stress levels. While there is no known cure for tinnitus, various management strategies have been developed to alleviate its impact on quality of life. One such strategy involves the use of Jabra Hearing Aids, which have gained attention for their potential benefits in managing hearing loss as well as tinnitus symptoms.
Next, let’s explore the benefits of Jabra Hearing Aids for tinnitus.
The Benefits of Jabra for Tinnitus
Jabra is the only direct-to-consumer hearing aid that offers a formal tinnitus masker through the use of their Jabra Enhance application. Jabra Enhance Hearing Aids provide tinnitus relief through a Tinnitus Sound Generator that can be modified for volume, frequency shaping, white noise variation, and nature sounds. The Tinnitus Sound Generator within the application is controlled by the user and their sound preference. This makes Jabra Hearing Aids a great comprehensive solution for patients who suffer from both hearing loss and tinnitus.
Customizable Soundscapes:
Jabra Hearing Aids offers customizable soundscapes that allow individuals to select and adjust sounds according to their specific tinnitus symptoms. This feature enables users to find the most soothing and relaxing sounds that can help mask or minimize the perception of tinnitus-related sounds. This is the ideal way to manage tinnitus in patients (1).
There are several Jabra Hearing Aids that include a tinnitus solution for patients. The chart below offers a guide to Jabra Hearing Aids which treats hearing loss and tinnitus organized by the degree of hearing loss they treat, the style of the hearing aid, the warranty period, and the cost of the device.

Other Benefits that Support Jabra’s Tinnitus Features
Noise-Canceling Technology: Jabra hearing aids incorporate noise-canceling technology that effectively reduces environmental noise. By minimizing background noise, individuals can focus on the desired soundscapes designed to alleviate tinnitus symptoms. This technology enhances the effectiveness of sound therapy by providing a more immersive and tailored experience.
Jabra Hearing Aids Bluetooth Connectivity:
Jabra hearing aids offer wireless connectivity through Bluetooth, enabling individuals to connect to various devices such as smartphones, tablets, or computers. This feature allows easy access to tinnitus-specific sound therapy applications, relaxation programs, or music libraries, providing a wide range of options for individuals to manage their tinnitus symptoms conveniently.
Portability and Discreteness:
Jabra hearing aids are lightweight, portable, and available in different colors and designs, including in-ear and over-ear options. This portability allows individuals to use them anywhere, whether at home, work or during recreational activities. The discrete nature of these hearing aids ensures that individuals can manage their tinnitus without drawing unwanted attention.
What Does the Research Say?
While consumer reports suggest the potential benefits of Jabra hearing aids for Tinnitus, scientific research exploring its specific effects is limited. Studies, like those from Brain Science (2022), have found that the use of sound therapy that is best matched to the patient’s tinnitus is most beneficial in managing tinnitus, particularly when paired with formal cognitive behavioral therapy.
The flexibility of the Jabra Tinnitus Sound Generator allows the patient to identify the sound that best manages their tinnitus, which is one of the greatest added benefits offered by the Jabra Hearing Aid.
Disclosure: Tinnitus has the potential to worsen if not treated properly. An evaluation by a hearing healthcare professional is recommended prior to self-treating tinnitus. If your tinnitus worsens or shifts in pitch or intensity seek immediate medical attention.
Bottom line: Are Jabra hearing aids good?

Jabra Hearing Aids Reviews from Consumers:
What are Consumers Saying?
You can view thousands of reviews on Jabra Enhance products and Jabra Headsets on their respective company websites. Here’s a sneak peek into what customers have to say.
Star Review | Jabra Hearing Aids Reviews | Product |
4/5 | “Jabra Enhance Plus is a very effective and very easy to use pair of earbuds, offering enhanced hearing for those with modest hearing deficiencies. The Jabra is full featured, allowing the end user to have more control over what they hear in everyday settings, when involved in phone calls or music streaming. After a few days of use I concluded that Jabra has provided a practical and stealthy solution for those of us with modest listening obstacles. The Jabra’s are stuffed with technology that works successfully and remains easy to access. And, it’s all packaged into the smallest and lightest set of earbuds I’ve ever owned that fit into an equally small charging case” | Jabra Enhance OTC |
5/5 | “Jabra Evolve 75 changed our meeting experience. Jabra Evolve 75 help us to maintain our social activities while we work without worrying about noise around the office. The employees are still free to talk, to laugh and in the end it increases our productivity and our working culture.” | Jabra Evolve 75 |
5/5 | “Excellent. I am very satisfied with the entire experience of working with Jabra on my new hearing aids. They have delivered extremely well on all the promises made on the website. I have been using hearing aids for a few years and am very happy I used Jabra to replace my old hearing aids.” | Enhance Select 200 (Rechargeable) with Premium Package review |
What do the experts have to say? The Doctor Weighs In
“I have multiple sets of Jabra headsets. I use a wired Jabra headset for computer work, Jabra Elite 3 earbuds for hands-free phone calls, and my Jabra Elite Sports devices when I am enjoying my favorite extreme sports, including swimming. There is no doubt that Jabra offers a wide range of reliable audio devices. However, as far as an anecdotal review of the devices in treating hearing loss and tinnitus, the experience has been mixed. Patients who have been long-time hearing aid users have found using Jabra hearing aids to be an easy transition from their previous set of hearing aids. However, if users want support outside of the virtual or Costco setting, there is limited flexibility in what the hearing healthcare provider can do. The Audiologist can use the Resound hearing aid software to optimize the results for the patient and conduct performance verification assessments and adjustments, but this will disengage the remote capabilities through Jabra. Costco devices do not have that flexibility.”
