If you spring for the Complete Home Plan, you’ll be eligible for a once-yearly insurance deductible reimbursement of up to $500 on a covered claim. For between $5.58 and $22 per month, customers can select add-on coverage for pools, spas, pools with spas, septic tank/pumping, and well pumps that can be combined with any of Cinch’s three plans. While Cinch only offers five add-on options, the robustness of the company’s main plans helps to offset the fact that you won’t be able to get some big-ticket items on your property covered. Cinch Home Services Warranty Plan 1: Appliances Plan

As the basic tier, Cinch’s Appliances Plan covers nearly all of the major kitchen and laundry appliances in your home for pricing that starts at $30.99 per month. This plan can build peace of mind if you’re concerned that your older appliances may soon start to experience problems. The essential appliances covered under the Appliances Plan are refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, range exhaust hoods, built-in trash compactors, clothes washers and dryers, microwaves, freestanding ice makers, and built-in food centers. Think of wine fridges and similar appliances for that last item!

Cinch Home Services Warranty Plan 2: Built-in Systems Plan

This is the plan to choose if you’re primarily focused on Cinch Home Services plumbing coverage and Cinch Home Services electrical coverage. Offering coverage for up to 16 major home systems starting at just $35.99 per month, this plan can help to prevent repair costs for big-ticket items around your home. Covered items include plumbing systems, ductwork, heating systems, electrical systems, attic fans, ceiling fans, central vacuums, sump pumps, toilets, water heaters, hot/cold water dispensers, smoke detectors, doorbells, garbage disposals, and whirlpool tubs.

Cinch Home Services Warranty Plan 3: Complete Plan

Starting at $44.99 per month, the Complete Plan combines everything in the Appliances Plan and the Built-in Systems Plan under one price. Choosing this option gives you a value of $65 per month for just $44.99.

Select Home Warranty vs. Cinch Home Services

Select Home Warranty offers coverage in all 50 states versus Cinch’s 47-state coverage. Like Cinch, Select Home Warranty offers three pricing tiers providing the option to choose coverage for appliances only, systems only, or both. Pricing is interesting when comparing these two options because the Bronze Care and Gold Care plans both have a much heftier starting price of $52. However, the Platinum Care plan that starts at $56.25 per month for full coverage is about $10 cheaper than Cinch’s comparable plan.

Services fees ranging from $75 to $100 are slightly lower than Cinch’s service fees. However, one detail that may push some customers toward Cinch is that Select Home Warranty’s coverage excludes all pre-existing conditions. In addition, Select Home Warranty’s coverage policies appear to be stricter compared to Cinch’s even though the covered items under both companies are similar.

Cinch Home Services vs. Choice Home Warranty

Choice Home Warranty’s flat-rate service of $85 can feel like a sensible choice for consumers who don’t like wildcards. With availability in every state other than Washington, Choice Home Warranty also has a slightly larger coverage range compared to Cinch. The big difference is that Choice only offers two plans instead of three.

Consumers are left choosing between the Basic plan for $46.67 a month and the Total plan for $55 a month. While pricing for Choice Home Warranty’s basic plan starts at $16 more than Cinch’s comparable plan, Choice’s plan actually excludes refrigerators, clothes washers, and dryers. Disappointingly, you’ll need to jump up to the Total plan to get those basics covered. Choice also excludes coverage for central vacuum ductwork, doorbells, fireplaces, portable sump pumps, septic leach lines, smoke detectors, and a number of other things. While air conditioning systems and ceiling/exhaust fans are covered, only one claim will be paid each year for these items. Finally, Choice Home Warranty’s generous 60-day guarantee for workmanship still isn’t impressive enough to top Cinch’s 180-day warranty.

Is Cinch Home Services Warranty Worth It?

Cinch does a great job of juggling robustness with low cost in a way that’s rare among its competitors. The appliance and systems plans both cover all of the major items you’re looking for at very reasonable prices. However, the “budget” aspect of Cinch does disappear slightly once you get to the all-inclusive tier. Unlike plans that entice you by making a complete plan just $10 to $12 more expensive compared to standalone appliance or systems plans, Cinch does have one of the pricier all-inclusive plans on the market.

Cinch Home Services has a “B” rating with the Better Business Bureau. However, customer ratings through BB earn a measly 1.11 out of 5 stars based on 1,682 Cinch Home Services coverage reviews. Most competitors at least reach 2 stars.
