Select Home Warranty vs. Cinch Home Services

Select Home Warranty offers coverage in all 50 states versus Cinch’s 47-state coverage. Like Cinch, Select Home Warranty offers three pricing tiers providing the option to choose coverage for appliances only, systems only, or both. Pricing is interesting when comparing these two options because the Bronze Care and Gold Care plans both have a much heftier starting price of $52. However, the Platinum Care plan that starts at $56.25 per month for full coverage is about $10 cheaper than Cinch’s comparable plan.

Services fees ranging from $75 to $100 are slightly lower than Cinch’s service fees. However, one detail that may push some customers toward Cinch is that Select Home Warranty’s coverage excludes all pre-existing conditions. In addition, Select Home Warranty’s coverage policies appear to be stricter compared to Cinch’s even though the covered items under both companies are similar.

Choice Home Warranty’s flat-rate service of $85 can feel like a sensible choice for consumers who don’t like wildcards. The appliance and systems plans both cover all of the major items you’re looking for at very reasonable prices. However, the “budget” aspect of Cinch does disappear slightly once you get to the all-inclusive tier. Unlike plans that entice you by making a complete plan just $10 to $12 more expensive compared to standalone appliance or systems plans, Cinch does have one of the pricier all-inclusive plans on the market.
